What changed in 2026-27
- The 60 paise discount now covers 11 am to 5 pm (6 hours), up from 11 am to 3 pm.
- It now applies to smart meters on monthly bills too, not only prepaid ones.
- The prepaid meter discount went up from 2% to 3%.
Who gets it
Homes with a smart meter. Ordinary meters cannot record the time of use, so the discount does not apply.
How much it saves
