Other charges on your bill
- Fuel surcharge (FPPAS): about ₹0.00 a unit in our estimate; it changes often, so copy it from your bill.
- Electricity duty: a state tax, taken as 6%.
- Units above 125 are charged at the rate after the state government's subsidy: about Rs 5.52 a unit in towns and Rs 2.45 in villages. Without subsidy the BERC rates are higher (Rs 7.42 and up).
- The fixed charge is taken as Rs 80 per kW a month in towns and Rs 40 per kW in villages, and is always included (it is not clear whether it is waived within the free units).
